This is because their experience with having portraits made is usually limited to a quickie mall place or department store where you just show up, wait in a long line so a zit faced teenager takes a picture of you.

This person knows little to nothing about how to properly arrange people for the most pleasing angle let alone any advanced lighting techniques to flatter the subjects. I'll bet he has a mark on the floor where you are supposed to stand and a string on the light because he doesn't even know how to properly meter an exposure.

The results usually speak for themselves. Everyone doesn't usually look their best. This is why people think they don't photograph well!

It's more than just getting dressed up and standing in line at the mall while someone snaps your picture. It requires careful planning and much thought regarding important details before an exposure is ever made.

We begin this process by asking allot of questions so that we can find out what type of portrait your hoping for. In studio casual, black & white, outdoors or on location - each style requires a different plan of action.

Because of the information we've provided you, the day of your session goes smoothly because we know exactly what you would like and how you want it to look. Everyone looks great because you have them dressed properly so that the portrait is of the your family, not their clothing. Time wise, you will be amazed how little time it actually takes, usually 40 minutes or less. We know exactly what we are doing and won't waste any of your time.

We also don't have a sterile, "I'm the artist and your the subject" and this is going to take as long as I want it to attitude either. No one works harder to make sure you look your best, have fun and get awesome portraits than the staff at Keepsake Photography!
